A Choice! To be Healthy

My desire is always to be healthy that’s why when there are opportunities like losing weight or making yourself healthy I usually grab it. I enjoy reading books with a healthy lifestyle, healthy food, a healthy mindset, and everything that leads to a healthy environment. It’s not so easy nowadays to look for healthy food and it takes courage, determination, and enthusiasm to keep going. Even the choice of continuing it is tough but it pays in the end. So I have to choose to eat healthy food and at times I need to force myself and my mind needs to focus on it or else I might be tempted and it happens at times.

Lately, I chose not to eat in the evening or refrain from eating rice and it helps a lot. To live healthy, wealthy, and wise is the cry of my heart in this present age. And keep track of the food I take in and enjoy eating healthy food. You can try and see the difference after few days.

Carry the Light

Carrying a lamp into a forest night doesn’t guarantee you will see all the trees. It only means that you can see a few steps ahead of you. Far enough to keep your feet sure.
Likewise, as the Lord lights your path, He may not shine all the answers to the questions in your mind but He will give you all the light you need to scale life’s obstacles with faith and confidence!!!

How to carry His light in the darkness, in this dark world? Only a miracle GOD can do that, man cannot do anything without the Lord. God knows what is best for His children!

When We’re Young

Camping is one of the memorable events of my better half. He really loves it. He loves to be with a group or with a friend or a family. He could even go alone if nobody is available. Hubby is a person who loves nature and enjoyed seeing the beauty of it. One time they went camping with the group and they need a car to carry all of them, so they looked for camping to carry them all. They went up the hill and they enjoyed their camping. It looks so cute and cool and cozy inside according to hubby. They had lots of fun and fellowship with some friends and family members. It was a great help for hubby and the group to have this camping need, it’s convenient and cool.

Hubby loves any part of it. He can lead, can work well in a group, can manage well, and can be trusted. He can even make the group enjoy some games and things to do while doing the camping. Most of the campers would tell us that they enjoyed and had fun. Camping is such a memorable thing to do for my hubby and his brothers too. They tried to do it as much as they can because they feel that it can give them time to refresh and to be revived again. They even wanted to be free from work or the stress of life. How about you? Do you like camping too? I have learned to love it too since my hubby enjoyed doing it.

Healthy Foods

I’m sharing some of the healthy foods that we need to eat and be part of our daily intake as much as possible. It’s something that we put into heart and live a better life:
1. Berries
All berries are low in sugar and high in fiber. Blueberries have been shown to increase memory in lab studies, and raspberries and strawberries are loaded with ellagic acid, a powerful antioxidant that seems to have some anti-cancer properties, according to the American Cancer Society.

2. Beans
Beans are extremely high in fiber, which helps to control weight, prevent or manage diabetes and blood sugar, and may help prevent colon cancer and protect against heart disease. The National Institute of Medicine recommends 25-38 grams of fiber a day. The average American gets only 4-11 grams. One cup of beans provides 11-17 grams.

3. Nuts
Some of the largest and most important long-term studies of diet and health have shown that eating nuts several times a week is consistent with a risk of heart attack and heart disease that is 30%-50% lower than the general population. Just one ounce of nuts-almonds, macadamia, Brazil , walnuts, pecans-eaten three to five times a week seems to be the magic number.

4. Wild Salmon
Fish is the ultimate anti-aging food. Cold-water fatty fish like wild salmon, sardines, mackerel and herring contain omega-3 fats that protect the brain and the heart, improve mood, and lower blood pressure and triglycerides.

5. Raw Milk
Raw, organic milk nearly always comes from grass-fed cows and contains high levels of cancer-fighting CLA (conjugated linolenic acid) as well as a rich assortment of vitamins, minerals and beneficial bacteria (like Lactobacillus acidophilus)

6. Grass-Fed
Meat from grass-fed cows has a much different fat profile than ordinary supermarket meat: high in omega-3s, lower in potentially harmful omega-6s and loaded with CLA, a kind of fat known for its anti-cancer activity. A superb source of protein and vitamin B12, it’s also missing the antibiotics, steroids, and hormones found in the meat that comes from feedlot farms.

7. Eggs
Considered by many to be nature’s most perfect food, the egg is high in protein and relatively low in calories. The yolk contains choline, one of the most important nutrients for the brain, as well as lutein and xeazanthin, two critical nutrients for eye health. Brassica Vegetables Cabbage, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, and kale all contain plant compounds called indoles that help reduce the risk of cancer. In addition to a stunning range of vitamins and minerals, they also contain sulforaphane, an important plant chemical that helps the body detoxify health-damaging chemicals.

8. Apples
Not only do they keep the doctor away, but they also appear to do the same for lung cancer, diabetes, and asthma. An apple contains five grams of fiber and a rich blend of nutrients including the bone-building vitamin K and the anti-inflammatory nutrient quercetin. And there’s no better way to control your appetite than an apple eaten about half an hour before a big meal.

9. Onions and Garlic
In an impressive number of published studies, the consumption of onions and garlic has demonstrated protective effects against stomach, prostate, and esophageal cancer. Along with broccoli, tea, and apples, onions and garlic are among a select group of foods found to reduce mortality from heart disease by 20%.

10. Pomegranate Juice
Called “a natural Viagra” by researchers at Tel Aviv University, pomegranate juice is loaded with antioxidants. Studies show it can reduce blood pressure and plaque in the arteries. New research indicates it also slows the progression of tumors. Four to eight ounces a day is highly recommended.

11. Green Tea
Though all teas are great for you, green tea has a unique profile of plant chemicals that have anti-cancer activity. It’s now fairly established that green tea may help prevent the following types of cancers in humans: bladder, colon, esophagus, pancreas, rectum, and stomach. If that’s not enough, it also appears to help with weight control.

May you enjoy craving these healthy foods. Blessings to all!

Experiences Learned

One of my desires, when I became a teacher, is to finish my graduate studies. After knowing the result of my myoma check-up – I went to the university where I studied before (during my time it was known as West Negros College) and then later, it was already called West Negros University. I was challenged to study again and finish my graduate studies.

When I checked, my records were already frozen, as what they call it. So, in order for me to write a thesis, I need to be refreshed and took the basic subjects again for me to get a comprehensive exam which is a pre-requisite for thesis writing. It’s quite hard at first but was able to survive. That’s why I don’t have enough time to blog. I had many things to do for my research subject, statistics, and the foundation of education. It helps me recall what I had learned more than a decade ago and again I gained additional knowledge in teaching. We have had seminars attended and other research studies to add to the knowledge gained. It’s fun though tiring. Most of my classmates were teachers by profession and we had the same desire as teachers.

We learned a lot as students in the graduate studies program. There were problems along the way especially in terms of finances but we were able to survive. The earnings I’ve got through blogging had helped a lot in my accounts paid in the school. I really enjoy my learning experience through blogging and my way of learning in school. Learning is fun when your heart is there.

God’s Love

Keeping on track is something to think about, to feel God’s love and His presence when surrounded by problems here and there. God is in control and He knows everything. He is supernatural, a marvelous and awesome God especially in this pandemic. You can’t help but thank Him for all things He has done and has given to our lives, resources and all the blessings we received everyday. Keeping on track would mean keeping in constant connection with Him who justified us and made us His own. He is our God who reigns forevermore and we need to do things right not for us but for Him who died for us. God is always good and faithful.

God’s love is overflowing to my life and my family. Whatever it takes we will hold hands together as a family and keep the love of God and honor him all the time.

Coming Back

I’m not in love with a prince, not even with our campus heartthrob, or what is more with a sports guru but I am in love of God’s creation. I love beaches! It is where I can utter myself more than I did at home or even with my friends. All at once, I would not be ashamed of what really my heart feels. I’m the silent nymph at home, school and nonetheless to my friends’ agenda. I’ve been fascinated by its perfectly-glazed colors, the sky, sea, sand and everything that can be seen in that spot. God has been so amazing in painting us a marvelous design that would make it perfect.

No one could ever hold back of the feelings I have with this beautiful present God has given me. In no doubt I can awfully say “I’m irresistibly in Love” by His irresistible LOVE.

Nonetheless, I’m coming back to where I was. I left behind my first love and I’m in love again with my God because of Jesus who died for me, I cannot help but praise Him for all the things He has done in my life and family. Thank you Jesus, thank you Holy Spirit for continually reminding me.
